The challenge of finding the most accessible way possible to deal with the remnants of the post-modernized world and to repurpose their forms and material characteristics. A repurposing with minimal intervention that plays with the perception of value—in objects that have passed their expiration date—mounted on the frame of the DSC 106 chair from the 1960s—a time when new forms still carried the promise of progress—designed by Giancarlo Piretti (who passed away in January of this year). Industrial
optimism meets materialistic abundance. Value shifts from the new to the existing.

The radius for placing the drink held in one’s hand should not exceed the 1.5-meter sidewalk boundary.
The other hand, carrying the heavy pétanque balls, should be relieved as quickly as possible after each throw.
Seating areas invite players to pause the game, engage in conversation, and gradually let the score fade into the background. Everything surrounding the court is designed to ease the players and create moments of rest.The BOULODROME is conceived as a metaphor for a non-competitive sporting practice, free from performance pressure. It is about physical activity as a leisurely pastime, where the outcome of the game is never of real importance.

CAVEA SESSEL 08/25

The CAVEA armchair takes its name from the ancient Greek term “cavea,” which referred to the tiered seating areas in amphitheaters where spectators gathered to watch athletic competitions, performances, and public events. The cavea was more than just a place to sit — it was a space of collective experience, of shared attention and anticipation.
Inspired by this historical context, the CAVEA chair is designed as a contemporary reinterpretation of the spectator’s seat by Oscar Niemeyers stadium architectur. Crafted from stainless steel with cow-leather detailing and partial padding, it combines raw structural clarity with tactile comfort. Gas shock absorbers tension the modular plug-in framework, providing both stability and a subtle sense of suspension.
Just as the original cavea framed the act of watching, this chair creates a deliberate posture for observation — a modern arena for focused presence.

PRÄPARAT ist eine Rekonstruktion vertrauter Wohnobjekte, die mithilfe eines nachgebildeten „Skeletts“ und einer „Haut“ neu aufgebaut werden. Dadurch ähneln sie funktionalen Objekten, erfüllen jedoch keinen praktischen Zweck. Ähnlich wie ein präpariertes Tier, das zwar seine äußere Erscheinung bewahrt, jedoch seine Bewegungen, Funktionen und Ausdruckskraft verliert, spielt PRÄPARAT mit der Grenze zwischen Realität, Darstellung und Anschein.
Materialien wie Leder, das die Haut imitiert, Raffia-Garn als Sehnen/Muskeln oder Boulekugeln als Gelenke offenbaren die organische Struktur dieser Objekte und verweisen auf ihr ursprüngliches Wesen, während ihre Nutzbarkeit bewusst in der Schwebe bleibt. Dadurch wird die vermeintliche Funktionalität zu einer symbolischen Repräsentation – das Objekt zeigt sich, ist aber seiner eigentlichen Aufgabe beraubt.

Der Goldrausch von 1854 in Kalifornien symbolisiert einen Mythos von Abenteuer, Aufbruch und dem Streben nach Reichtum, das viele Menschen damals dazu trieb, unter widrigsten Bedingungen ihr Glück zu suchen. Doch wie würde sich dieser historische Moment in der heutigen Zeit anfühlen, in einer Welt, in der wir nahezu unbegrenzten Zugang zu High-Tech-Equipment und digitalen Ressourcen haben?
Im Jahr 1854 war das Reisen motiviert durch die existenzielle Notwendigkeit, Reichtum und der Gier nach Mehr. Heute dagegen steht Outdoor-Erlebnis oft in einem Spannungsfeld zwischen Freizeitvergnügen und Leistungsanspruch. Moderne Ausrüstung verspricht die Natur zu "bändigen" und gleichzeitig ein Höchstmaß an Komfort und Sicherheit zu bieten. Aktuell hingegen treiben uns häufig Selbstverwirklichung, Neugierde und der Wunsch nach Status zu neuen Abenteuern.
Ausrüstung, die für extreme Expeditionen oder spezialisierte Abenteuer entwickelt wurde, wird heute oft in alltäglichen Situationen eingesetzt – und verliert dadurch ihre eigentliche Bedeutung. Diese „überentwickelten“ Produkte kommen „zu spät“, um noch einen wirklichen Unterschied in den Erfahrungen zu machen, die wir uns von ihnen versprechen.
Am Ende bleibt die Frage: Was suchen wir wirklich – ob damals im Goldrausch oder heute auf unseren Outdoor-Abenteuern? Ist es das materielle Gold, der Traum vom schnellen Reichtum, oder ist es die symbolische Suche nach Sinn, Freiheit und Identität in einer Welt, die immer komplexer und übertechnologisierter wird?
Wenn man sich heute, ausgehend dem Wiener Stadtzentrum, auf eine 24-stündige Goldsuche begibt – stellt sich die Frage: Wie viel Gold ließe sich tatsächlich finden?

The factory where Ahmed works also produces many ties.
He doesn’t wear ties—he doesn’t like them.
His superiors wear them, a sign that they are 10 times taller than he is.Ahmed (name changed) is 32 years old and comes from Callum, Egypt.
He moved to Italy in 2017 for better opportunities in life and wealth.
He started working at a textile company in southern Prato as a logistics helper.
For the first five years, he worked there illegally, without permission.
He works six days a week, 10 to 11 hours a day.What does it really mean when something is "Made in Italy"?
Life circumstances like Ahmed’s are "Made in Italy."Ahmed founded an undercover workers' organization called "Shame in Italy" to organize demonstrations and spread hidden messages, fighting against the exploitation of foreign workers in the Prato area.
But the biggest battles take place at the desks of his superiors,
who always seem to be 10 times taller.

Tie knots have a centuries-long tradition and countless designs and meanings.
To simplify this fashion element, the tie clip helps to fix the tie and also to find again the desired length, which was set in advance.
Ties function as a form of clothing without any idea of performance. Just the design of the outfit and aesthetics. In taking this idea further, I would also like to remove the user's demand for performance and knowledge. It's all about design and decoration in it’s simplest form without any demands.
Special limitations and illnesses impair a person's motor skills to such an extent that tasks such as tying a tie become impossible. This small project not intended to make the fun of dressing yourself dependent on your own abilities, knowledge or tradition, but to limit itself to the fun of dressing yourself beautifully (what a tie stands for).

Stacking always involves the risk of falling over. Why not turn the process of stacking 180°?
To avoid the effects of vertical forces, I created a piece of suspended furniture. It lives independently in the room, does not adapt to any wall but creates a space around itself. With the help of overscaled coat hangers i could wrap a 15 meter long fabric band through the system. The created pockets adapt the form of the content in them.
The hanger reacts to wind, touch and objects with particular sensitivity. On the one hand, it clearly ignores the surrounding space and yet is so sensitive to external influences.
The only thing it can‘t do is fall over.

Having internet-enabled devices with you all the time gives you security and the opportunity to always socialize. In a digitalized world, relaxation often comes from the opposite. A 4-hour visit to the sauna or a 2-hour movie in the cinema gives us digital leisure time and allows us to catch our breath.
In order to make this breathing space longer, I created a notebook/calendar-smart- watch in the paper-oriented semester project. Smartanalog.
The challenge was to attach enough pages comfortably to the arm and still make it easy to use. I used a special seam to give the paper flexibility and with the help of latex-treated paper I was able to create a pleasant skin feel. The mounting on the right or left arm allows a comfortable writing direction with the other hand. The book cover serves as a sling and secures the book to the forearm.
Carrying something with you all the time that only helps you to write down your own thoughts and specifically renounces the influence of the rest of the world brings relaxation and focus
